About Us
How We Got Started
Brentwood has been our home for nearly four decades. After graduating from Liberty High School in 2003, I joined a small local pest control company. Just a few ride-alongs as a trainee showed me that the work was about more than just eliminating bugs—it was about building lasting relationships and delivering quality service. I was also drawn to the science and biology behind pest management, which made the work even more rewarding.
After four years as a field technician with that local operation, I was eager to advance my career and joined the third-largest pest control company in the nation, HomeTeam Pest Defense. I began as a service technician and worked my way up to Field Supervisor and eventually Service Manager. During my time there, I earned two California Operator Licenses and a Qualified Applicator License. I deepened my understanding of pests and their biology, collaborated with product manufacturers to evaluate product efficacy, and attended a termite control training program at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.
Over the decade I spent there, I had the opportunity to learn from some of the brightest minds in the pest control industry—including Master Technicians, Office Managers, Service Managers, General Managers, Technical Advisors, Board-Certified Entomologists, CFOs, CEOs, and Presidents. I’m grateful for every person I crossed paths with during those formative years.
A New Beginning
Two exciting adventures began in January of 2018.
I joined DOW Chemical, where I began operating the Sulfuryl Fluoride AI plant—producing Vikane and ProFume—which supplies pest management professionals around the world. This compressed gas is used to fumigate structures for bed bugs and other pests, as well as in agriculture to protect our food supply from infestation.
That very same day, with 14 years of pest control experience behind me, I founded Blue Star Pest Solutions. My vision was to deliver high-quality service to our community and build lasting partnerships. In the off hours from my full-time role at DOW, I began growing the business one customer at a time. Thanks to our loyal customers, we’ve continued to grow year after year.
What Keeps Me Motivated
My Family
I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Lorena, and love being a dad to our two boys, Roman and Ezekiel. As a small business owner, my vision is to build a company that reflects our family and our core value: family. I’m grateful to share my passion as a Pest Management Professional and bring years of experience into every home we service.
Our Customers
We’re a small, personal company—and that’s by design. I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know our customers, building relationships based on trust, pride, and the quality of our service. Many of them have seen both our family and business grow over the years, which makes those connections even more meaningful.
Our Community
Brentwood has given me every opportunity to get to this point. I’ve enjoyed growing up in the local school system and continue to appreciate all that Brentwood has to offer. I believe in giving back, which is why I support local schools, teachers, libraries, and parent clubs. I live in the same community I serve, and I love running into customers around town—it’s part of what makes this all so rewarding.
